Caffeine Fix: Newport Beach's Must-Visit Coffee Shops

EAT

For many of us, there’s nothing better than that first cup of coffee in the morning. However, if we’re being completely honest, it can be difficult sometimes to stray away from our favorite spot. Every part of coffee seems to become a habit.

However, trying new spots is a great way to explore different parts of town and meet new people.

Lucky for us, Newport Beach is home to a vibrant and rising coffee culture.

Whether you’re a caffeine connoisseur or simply looking for something to sip on while walking along the shore, Newport’s thriving coffee scene caters to everyone’s taste. So grab a book and hit the road to these best coffee shops in Newport Beach.

Vacancy

Located on PCH in Newport Shores is Vacancy Coffee — a minimalist coffee shop that caters to locals, creatives, and coffee enthusiasts alike. It’s a hub for those of us searching for a low-key atmosphere that offers top-notch coffee. We’d definitely recommend grabbing one of their artisanal pastries that come in freshly made every day.

Alta

Nestled in the heart of Newport Beach is this hidden gem. Alta Coffee is a neighborhood coffee shop that specializes in pour-over coffee and brunch. Their farmhouse style offers that cozy cafe vibe we all look for in our regular coffee joint. They have an incredible selection of lattes and breakfast items. Our favorite is their Toffee Latte.

C’est Si Bon Bakery

Step into France at Newport’s beloved C’est Si Bon. It’s located right off PCH and serves up the best French pastries in town. Their European-inspired setting makes it a wonderful place to set up shop for a morning of reading and catching up with a friend. As well as a wide variety of coffee drinks to choose from, their bakery selection is unparalleled. Native tip: they make fresh baguettes every hour so get them while they’re hot!

Dory Deli

Dory Deli is known for its chicken and waffles and their bustling night scene, but did you know they serve some pretty incredible coffee too? It’s only steps away from the sand and offers a laid-back and spacious atmosphere to catch up on some work while sipping on some coffee. We love their cold brew, but if you’re feeling extra rambunctious, be sure to ask one of their baristas to create their personal favorite caffeine concoction!

Huskins Coffee

A little further down the road lies this world-class local favorite coffee shop — Huskins. Huskins Coffee Company is Balboa Island’s best coffee. It’s the perfect place to grab-and-go, while you walk the Balboa coastline. The black and white checkered flooring makes it an aesthetic spot for hanging out with friends and getting extra Instagram-able. They’re known for their pour-over, but we always recommend their seasonal specials.

Kean Coffee

For a more traditional coffee shop vibe, you need to head on over to Kean Coffee. Kean Coffee has a massive assortment of sustainable coffee beans. Their passion for perfecting flavors is unmatched and has won over the hearts of regulars for their craft coffee creations. However, if you’re not in the mood for cold brews and cappuccinos, Kean Coffee makes one mean matcha latte!

Rose Bakery Cafe

Tucked away in lovely CDM is Rose Bakery Cafe, a quaint and charming coffee shop that provides excellent coffee and an extensive donut and pastry selection. It’s the perfect place to grab yourself a hot coffee and an Old Fashioned and people watch for the entire morning. Check out their freshly baked scones that are made every morning – and prepare to wait in line. It’s popular!

Freelance Coffee Project

Freelance Coffee Project is Orange County’s first roaster and tasting room, serving up some of the highest quality coffee in Newport Beach. Fairly new, this caffeine lover’s haven is already gaining rapid exposure and finding notoriety with the locals. They easily have the freshest beans in all of SoCal. We’d recommend their cold brews, pour-overs, and grabbing a bag of beans on your way out! Located in a warehouse type setting, it’s hip and perfect for catching up with a friend on their outside patio.
